THERE’S BEEN MUCH DEBATE OVER EXACTLY WHAT ALAN GREENSPAN meant or didn’t mean with his remark that helped to trigger the recent stock selloff.
I can help. I believe that when Greenspan was heard to utter, “It is possible we can get a recession toward the end of this year,” he actually was saying, “I sure enjoy retirement. I’ll have the vichyssoise.”
