SRS Labs Inc., Santa Ana, reported a $4.3 million net loss on sales of $7.2 million for the first quarter ended March 31, compared with a $1.5 million net loss on sales of $7.7 million for the same period last year.

Smith Micro Software Inc., Aliso Viejo, reported a loss of $0.7 million on sales of $3 million for the first quarter ended March 31, compared with a $0.7 million net loss on sales of $3 million the year before.

Continuus Software Corp., Irvine, reported a $2 million loss on sales of $9.8 million for its first quarter ended March 31, compared with a $239,000 loss on sales of $8.2 million the same period last year.

Irvine Sensors Corp., Newport Beach, reported a $2.9 million loss on sales of $2.8 million for its second quarter ended April 2, compared with a $980,000 loss on sales on $3 million for the same period last year. For the six-month period, the company reported a $5.4 million loss on sales of $6.1 million, compared with a $2.3 million loss on sales of $5.8 million the same period last year.

Spartanburg, South Carolina-based restaurant operator Advantica Restaurants Inc., which operates Irvine-based restaurant chains Coco’s and Carrow’s, reported a net loss of $116,000 on sales of $378 million for the first quarter ended March 29 compared to a net loss of $154,000 on sales of $384 million for the same period a year ago. The company plans to sell the OC operations and refocus its direction on its Denny’s family restaurant chain.

Chicago Pizza & Brewery Inc., Mission Viejo, reported net income of $173,000 on sales of $10.2 million for the first quarter of 2000 ended March 31 compared to net loss of $114,000 on sales of $8.1 million for the same period the previous year.

Mossimo Inc., Irvine, reported a net loss of $8.9 million on sales of $18 million for the three months ended March 31 compared to a net loss of $1.5 million on sales of $8.3 million for the same period a year ago.
