EARNINGS

Varco International Inc., Orange, reported earnings of $3.7 million on $144.3 million in revenue for the fourth calendar quarter, compared with fourth-quarter 1998 earnings of $10.7 million on $199.6 million in revenue. For the year, the company reported earnings of $37.0 million on $592.8 million in revenue, compared with earnings of $60.3 million on $741.0 million in revenue in 1998.

Oakley Inc., Foothill Ranch, posted a net loss of $2.5 million on sales of $66.2 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with fourth-quarter 1998 earnings of $3.4 million on sales of $53.6 million. For the year, the firm posted earnings of $19.8 million on sales of $257.9 million, compared with 1998 earnings of $24.1 million on sales of $231.9 million.

Pacific Gulf Properties Inc., Newport Beach, reported earnings of $10.6 million, including a $2.6 million gain on the sale of real estate, on revenue of $32.1 million in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with earnings of $36.1 million, including a $28.9 million gain on the sale of real estate, on revenue of $30.2 million in the previous fourth quarter. For the year, the company posted earnings of $39.9 million, including a gain of $8.5 million on the sale of real estate, on revenue of $124.2 million, compared with earnings of $64.8 million, including a $35.3 million gain on the sale of real estate, on revenue of $113.1 million.

Printrak International Inc., Anaheim, reported earnings of $2 million on sales of $27.9 million for its fiscal third quarter ended Dec.31, compared with earnings of $8.3 million on sales of $23.7 million for the prior third quarter. For the nine-month period, the company posted earnings of $5.6 million on sales of $81.7 million, compared with earnings of $9.5 million on sales of $60.4 million in the prior-year period.

Tickets.com, Costa Mesa, reported a net loss of $28.4 million on sales of $12.8 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a net loss of $25.5 million on sales of $7.4 million for the prior fourth quarter. For the year, the company posted a net loss of $66.6 million on sales of $45.9 million, compared with a net loss of $34.9 million on sales of $29.5 million in 1998.

I/O Magic Corp., Irvine, reported earnings of $972,000 on sales of $19.4 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec.31, compared with a net loss of $327,000 on sales of $5.3 million for the fourth quarter of 1998. The company did not release annual figures last week.

Cerplex Group Inc, Irvine, reported a net loss of $4.4 million on sales of $14.1 million for the fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 25, compared with a net loss of $7.3 million on sales of $29.5 million for prior first quarter.

Interpore International, Irvine, posted earnings of $1.2 million on sales of $10.7 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with fourth-quarter 1998 earnings of $788,000 on sales of $8.2 million. For the year, the firm posted earnings of $4.8 million on sales of $38.9 million, compared with a 1998 net loss of $2.4 million on sales of $30.2 million.

BYL Bancorp, Orange, reported calendar fourth-quarter earnings of $892,000, compared with previous fourth-quarter earnings of $1.3 million. The company also reported earnings for the year of $3.1 million, compared with 1998 earnings of $4.1 million.

Smith Micro Software Inc., Aliso Viejo, reported a net loss of $980,000 on revenue of $2.5 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a $679,000 net loss on sales of $2.7 million in the fourth quarter of 1998. For the year, the company posted a $6.1 million net loss on sales of $10.7 million, compared with a $1.8 million net loss on sales of $10.2 million in 1998.

Research Engineers Inc., Yorba Linda, reported a net loss of $418,000 on sales of $5.6 million for its fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a loss of $36,000 on sales of $3.0 million in the prior third quarter. For the nine-month period, the company reported a net loss of $894,000 on sales of $13 million, compared with a $350,000 net loss on sales of $7.4 million prior-year period.

GTC Telecom Corp., Costa Mesa, reported a $2.2 million net loss on sales of $722,000 for its fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a $1 million loss on sales of $18,000 in its previous second quarter. For the six-month period, the company posted a $3.4 million net loss on sales of $861,000, compared with a $1.2 million net loss on sales of $18,000 in the prior-year period.

Endocare, Irvine, reported a net loss of $2.3 million on sales of $1.2 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a net loss of $1.5 million on sales of $602,000 for prior fourth quarter. For the year, the company posted a net loss of $9.3 million on sales of $3.5 million, compared with a net loss of $4.9 million on sales of $2.5 million in 1998.

VitalCom Inc, Tustin, reported a net loss of $1.7 million on sales of $4.1 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a net loss of $56,259 on sales of $5.6 million for prior fourth quarter. For the year, the company posted a net loss of $4.8 million on sales of $16.3 million, compared with a net loss of $1.5 million on sales of $20.9 million in 1998.

StarBase Corp., Santa Ana, posted a net loss of $974,000 on revenue of $4.1 million for the third fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a net loss of $2.1 million on revenue of $1.9 million in the previous third quarter. For the nine-month period, the company reported a net loss of $3.4 million on revenue of $11.3 million, compared with a net loss of $7.3 million on revenue of $4.7 million in the prior-year period.

Micro Therapeutics Inc, Irvine, reported a net loss of $3.0 million on sales of $1.3 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a net loss of $3.4 million on sales of $852,007 for the prior fourth quarter. For the year, the company posted a net loss of $13.8 million on sales of $4.1 million, compared with a net loss of $9.9 million on sales of $4.2 million in 1998.

I-Flow Corp, Lake Forest, reported earnings of $6.3 million, including a $4.8 million benefit due to a revaluation of deferred tax assets, on sales of $7.8 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with earnings of $576,000 on sales of $7.1 million for the prior fourth quarter. For the year, the company posted earnings of $8.8 million on sales of $27.8 million, compared with earnings of $1.1 million on sales of $23.6 million in 1998.
