The Cypress City Council has approved the construction of a 155-room Residence Inn by Marriott on Katella Avenue near the Cypress Golf Club. The project, within what is known as the PBP Planned Business Park Zone, is expected to be open for business in 2003.
The business-class hotel will be the fourth hotel in the city and the second Marriott project there. A 156-room Courtyard by Marriott, which caters to a shorter-stay market, is about 10 blocks away. Other hotels in the city are a 124-room Woodfin Suites on Corporate Avenue near Cerritos Avenue and the 60-room Cypress Suites near Cypress College.
The Residence Inn in Cypress will be the county’s seventh; others are in Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Irvine, Orange and Placentia/Fullerton.
