More than 100 cutting-edge companies of the so-called New Economy will strut their stuff at Cruttenden Roth’s 12th annual Growth Stock Conference Feb. 21-23 at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel.
The event, also sponsored by small-cap market-research firm RedChip.com, will feature 100 public companies and 14 private companies presenting their business plans in the hopes of wooing investors.
Several Orange County companies will participate, including Tickets.com, QLogic Corp, Emulex Corp., CKE Restaurants Inc., NewPort Communication, Powerwave Technologies, Universal Electronics Inc. and Research Engineers Inc. Non-OC notables include Internet service providers EarthLink Network Inc. and Excite@Home, as well as used-car seller Ugly Duckling Corp.
Past “discoveries” of the conference include QLogic, which first presented in 1997 with a market cap of $40 million and Emulex, which first presented in 1998 with a market cap of $70 million. QLogic is now valued at about $6.5 billion, while Emulex enjoys a market cap of more than $4.8 billion.
“Some of today’s small-cap companies may grow to be the leaders of tomorrow,” said Cruttenden Roth chairman Byron Roth.
The event will also feature popular band Sugar Ray and a group made up of aging rock stars from popular acts called The World Classic Rockers.
The conference is free for portfolio managers, Cruttenden Roth clients and RedChip.com subscribers. It’s $250 for everyone else.
