John Wayne Airport Ranks No. 1 for a Second Year
Orange County’s sole commercial airport ranked highest among the nation’s “large” airports for a second year in a row, according to the latest J.D. Power ranking that published today.
John Wayne Airport was the No. 1 airport in the United States for 2025, finishing ahead of Tampa International Airport and Dallas Love Field.
“The community really trusts us to execute on our promises,” Airport Director Charlene Rynolds told the Business Journal, adding the facility she oversees will be improved upon within the next few years.
John Wayne Airport is spending $120 million on a new baggage handling facility and $100 million on a runway safety project. Updated concessions, such as McDonald’s, Starbucks and Wahoo’s, are also slated to come online by 2026.
The J.D. Power rankings were based on the firm’s North American Airport Satisfaction Study, which is now in its 20th year and measuring overall passenger satisfaction at mega, large and medium airports in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the rest of the continent.
