Bigger Office for Event, Street Team Organizer IPW

IPW Experience recently doubled its space in a move to new offices.

The marketing shop, which organizes events and street teams and creates promotional materials, moved to a bigger space within Costa Mesa after hiring a project manager, according to President Delphine Channels Berryhill.

IPW Experience needed more space to house event equipment and expects to grow its staff of five workers, she said.

Before the end of the year, the shop plans to add one more employee, Berryhill said.

IPW Experience has been busy.

The shop is getting ready to host a May 24 event called Vanity for SqueezeOC, the magazine put out by the Freedom Communications Inc. unit that publishes the Orange County Register. This is the second in a series for SqueezeOC.

IPW also is helping Santa Ana-based ad shop DGWB with an English literacy marketing campaign for the city of Santa Ana.

And IPW recently was named event marketing agency for Crevier Classic Car Co. in Costa Mesa, owned by Don Crevier of Crevier BMW in Santa Ana.

“We are providing marketing services for the venue as well as providing event management for companies and individuals who wish to rent the facility for private parties,” Berryhill said.

Crevier Classic Car, a club created by Crevier to house his classic cars, lets others store their swanky cars for a fee.

Tomy’s i-Sobot: MKM doing PR

Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto

Huntington Beach-based marketer MKM is helping the Santa Ana arm of Japanese toy maker Tomy Co. spread the word about its new toy robot, i-Sobot.

MKM put together a big public relations campaign, print ads and trade show marketing to promote the toy, which is expected to hit stores in October.

The shop said it also is trying to reach potential buyers through MySpace, YouTube videos and a Tomy Web site.

The work is set to last through December.

The nearly 7-inch robot, which costs $350, can walk, dance, do karate and say more than 200 words and phrases. It also responds to commands either through voice or a remote control.

PR Extension

Besack & Associates in Yorba Linda extended its contract with Irvine-based networking services pro-vider Embee Technologies Inc. for public relations and other marketing work.

“With the previous contract, we were able to expand Embee’s reach and expose the company’s services to a wider market,” said Vanessa Besack, chief executive of Besack & Associates.

The public relations shop now will look to build on the original six-month contract, she said.

Data Push

RMS Inc., a public relations shop in Ladera Ranch, is helping client Melissa Data Corp. of Rancho Santa Margarita plug its services, which include mailing software, address and phone verification, address management tools and mailing lists.

RMS has worked with Melissa Data on and off since 2003 and signed a one-year public relations contract in December.

Betsy Scherzer, who works on the Melissa Data account, said RMS wants to get as much coverage as possible for Melissa Data.

“We have goals of getting into top publications for Melissa Data,” she said. “So far, we are meeting our goals.”

RMS is helping Melissa Data spread the word about new products and the company’s growth, Scherzer said.
