Lake Forest-based home healthcare provider Apria Healthcare Group Inc. reported higher third-quarter profits and upped its outlook for the rest of the year on Tuesday.
The company, which provides breathing treatments and other services to patients in their homes, said profits rose 10.2% from a year earlier to $21.3 million.
Analysts had expected $20 million in profits.
Revenue rose 3.6% to $396.1 million, largely on breathing treatments.
The company upped its outlook for the rest of the year, saying it expects profits of $82 million to $84 million.
In July, Apria forecast profits of $78 million to $80 million.
Earlier this month, Apria said it plans to buy Denver-based Coram Inc. for $350 million in cash. The move is designed to expand Apria’s business providing intravenous drug and feeding services.
Apria gets most of its $1.5 billion in yearly sales from providing breathing treatments.
