Now we know why.
The former chief financial officer of Aliso Viejo’s Quest Software Inc. has signed on for the same post at Santa Ana’s Advanced Medical Optics Inc.
Earlier this month, Quest, a maker of software that monitors the performance of other business software programs, said Michael Lambert was leaving but didn’t say for where.
Lambert had been Quest’s chief financial officer since 2005.
His departure wasn’t related to Quest’s probe of misdated stock options, which wrapped up last month with a $143 million charge to past earnings.
Lambert is set to start at Advanced Medical, a maker of eye surgery and contact lens care products, on Monday.
He replaces Richard Meier, who is set to stay on at Advanced Medical as chief operating officer.
