A federal judge in Los Angeles has said she would approve Activision Blizzard Inc.’s $18 million settlement of a U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit alleging widespread sex discrimination, the company reported.
The money will be used to compensate eligible claimants, according to Activision Blizzard. The company has been hit by a variety of discrimination allegations.
Activision Blizzard (Nasdaq: ATVI) is the parent company of Irvine-based Blizzard Entertainment, Orange County’s largest software company with nearly 2,700 local workers.
Shares in the company closed up 0.9% at $80.75 apiece for a market cap of $63 billion.
