I-5 Publishing LLC in Irvine said it launched Petcha.com, a pet search website that lists pets from breeders and shelters. Petcha also features pet care tools and breeder and rescue business profiles with Yelp-like ratings.
The launch also marks the start of a collaboration with Trupanion, a Seattle-based medical insurance company for pets. Petcha.com will offer Trupanion’s medical coverage plan to any consumer that adopts a dog or cat from a shelter or breeder that participates in Trupanion’s Shelter Support Program.
I-5 Publishing acquired the Dogster and Catster websites from San Francisco-based Say Media Inc. in July. The portals attract a combined 2.5 million visitors each month, according to the company. The print versions of the websites will replace its long-standing Dog Fancy and Cat Fancy magazines in coming days.
