Tom Bray, managing editor for the Press-Enterprise, has been named managing editor of news for the entire Southern California News Group.
The Orange County Register, and Press-Enterprise in Riverside, are part of the group under Digital First Media, which acquired both papers out of bankruptcy earlier this year.
Kimberly Guimarin has been named senior editor for the Press-Enterprise. She becomes the top local newsroom staffer in the wake of the departure of Press-Enterprise Editor Michael Coronado last Thursday.
“In these trying times for news media, it’s critical that we manage our operations as efficiently as possible,” said Frank Pine, executive editor for Southern California News Group. “Last week’s restructuring will help us do just that.”
Guimarin had been senior editor for photo for Digital First’s operations in Southern California, which include nine other daily newspapers spread over Los Angeles and Orange counties and the Inland Empire.
Guimarin has more than a decade of experience in local journalism in the Inland Empire and is a resident of Riverside County.
