It was a night of awards and partying as more than 650 surfers, skaters, apparel companies, retailers and others in the action sports industry gathered at the House of Blues Anaheim for the annual Surf Industry Manufacturers Association Image Awards. Orange County companies dominated the list of attendees and award recipients at the Feb. 3 event. Companies received nods in 15 categories ranging from Breakthrough Brand of the Year (Aliso Viejo-based OluKai Inc.) to Men’s Apparel Brand of the Year (Costa Mesa’s Rvca Clothing, part of Irvine-based Billabong USA.)
