Irvine-based memory products maker Western Digital Corp. has expanded its board of directors with the appointment of finance veteran Paula Price.
Price, the second woman elected to the company’s board, will serve on the audit committee.
She is a senior lecturer at Harvard Business School, and most recently served as chief financial officer of Ahold USA, which operates more than 700 supermarkets. Her prior experience includes tenures as controller and chief accounting officer at drugstore chain CVS Caremark; and chief financial officer for the Institutional Trust Services division of JPMorgan Chase.
Price’s appointment brings Western Digital’s board to 13 directors.
She also serves on the boards of Accenture, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Financial Guaranty Insurance Company, as well as the board of overseers for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Western Digital is the world’s largest disk drive maker in the world in units sold and revenue.
The company’s shares are down 1.4% in afternoon trading to a market value of $22.19 billion.
