Costa Mesa-based Precision Pet Products has been sold on undisclosed terms to Petmate in Arlington, Texas.
“Adding Precision’s wire crates, wooden chicken coops and puppy pads to our product offerings means our customers get an even broader and deeper range of innovative products,” Petmate Chief Executive Alice Tillett said in a statement.
Petmate makes leashes, wooden crates, and other pet-related products.
Petmate will close the Southern California headquarters and distribution center of Precision Pet Products and provide severance packages to its roughly 25 employees.
“Petmate shares our commitment to pets and their families,” said Dave Link, Precision Pet Products chief executive.
The Costa Mesa firm had been family-owned for about 30 years.
