Electric truck maker Nikola Corp. (Nasdaq: NKLA) said the move of its battery manufacturing site from Orange County to Coolidge, Ariz., is expected to be completed by April, months ahead of the original schedule.
A battery engineering presence is expected to remain in California at a separate facility to focus on the development of Nikola’s next generation battery management system software and modules, the company added In a news release yesterday.
Nikola completed the acquisition of Romeo Power last October and in mid-January announced the plan to transfer the battery manufacturing from Cypress to Arizona.
