Orange County automakers all reported rises in March sales from the year prior.
Hyundai Motor America saw sales jump 27% to 75,404 vehicles in its “best March” in the Fountain Valley automaker’s history. Sales were led by the Tucson SUV, which climbed 47% to 20,111 vehicles.
Fountain Valley-based Genesis Motor America, the luxury division of Hyundai, posted “best-ever” March sales, which rose 23% to 5,656. The GV70, the company’s highest-selling vehicle, jumped 32% to 2,100.
Kia America’s March sales grew 20% to 71,294. The Irvine auto maker’s highest-selling vehicle, the Sportage SUV, rose 37% to 12,965.
Irvine-based Mazda North American Operations rose 5.3% from the year prior to 34,778 vehicles. Sales were led by the CX-5 SUV, which fell 23% to 16,612.
