Aliso Viejo-based IHI Power Services Corp., which manages more than 14.2 gigawatts at 40 U.S. facilities, said it’s appointed John R. Keller as president and chief executive officer, replacing Stephen Gross, who is retiring after 10 years at the helm.
IHI Power, a unit of Tokyo-based IHI Corp., said that Keller will oversee the company’s strategic direction with priorities focused on expanding the leadership team, growing the organization and driving business results and profitability. Keller has more than three decades in the power generation sector, including founding startups that built renewable energy plants and his own consulting firm to advise private equity investors.
“John is a true visionary and the right person to lead this innovative and forward-thinking group of individuals,” Gross said. “I know that under John’s leadership, IPSC will continue to advance and thrive as a force to be reckoned with in the power generation industry.”
IHI Power Services Corp.’s parent company is a heavy industrial manufacturing and services company active in several industries, including aerospace, shipbuilding, power generation, automotive and transportation infrastructure.
It formed its U.S. unit, known as IPSC, to provide operations, maintenance, management and power plant support services to the U.S. power generation industry. With 600 employees, it manages more than 14.2 gigawatts at 40 facilities in the U.S.
