Ducommun 3Q Revenue Surges 14%

Santa Ana-based company sees commercial demand rising

Ducommun Inc. (NYSE: DCO), a Santa Ana-based supplier of electronic and structural products and services for the aerospace and defense industry, said third-quarter net revenue rose 14% to $186.6 million, easily beating analysts’ estimates of $180.7 million.

The company said third-quarter net income dropped 11% to $8.5 million compared to the same period a year earlier, reflecting higher selling, general and administrative expenses.

“Our third quarter saw very strong top-line growth with commercial aerospace demand once again leading the way along with another quarter of solid performance in Ducommun’s largest business, defense,” said Stephen G. Oswald, chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Shares in Ducommun closed up 9.5% at $51.25 apiece for a market cap of  $619 million, but dropped slightly by 0.4% during after-hours trading.
