ReVision Optics Inc., a Lake Forest-based eye device maker, said today that it raised $55 million in equity funding.
ReVision makes Raindrop, a replacement eye lens that’s implanted through a small, laser-created opening in a patient’s cornea. Raindrop is targeted to people 45 to 60 years old with presbyopia, a condition where the eye loses its ability to focus close-up as it ages.
Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., the venture capital arm of New Brunswick, N.J.-based Johnson & Johnson, was among the ReVision investors.
