Octane Launches Mussallem Cardiovascular Accelerator

Program focused on advancing breakthrough cardiovascular technologies

Newport Beach business accelerator Octane yesterday announced the launch of the Mussallem Cardiovascular Accelerator to support startups developing breakthrough technologies for cardiovascular diseases.

The new 14-week program is funded by a legacy gift from the Linda and Mike Mussallem Foundation, and will provide selected companies with workshops, mentoring and investor-readiness training.

“We are strong believers in the transformative impact that innovation can have on patients and families facing cardiovascular disease and we are proud to support the entrepreneurs and emerging companies working to develop the next generation of cardiovascular technologies,” said Linda and Mike Mussallem in a statement.

Mike Mussallem is for the former chief executive of Irvine-based Edwards Lifesciences Corp., as well as one of the five co-founders of Octane.
