Irvine-based Edwards Lifesciences Corp. appointed Steven Loranger to its board of directors.
Loranger’s appointment is to a new seat, bringing the heart valve maker’s total board size to nine.
He was most recently chief executive of Rye Brook, N.Y.-based global water technology company Xylem Inc. He previously was chief executive of ITT Corp. in White Plains, N.Y.
He is a former U.S. Navy lieutenant and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Colorado.
Edwards released the news of Loranger’s appointment after markets closed today. Shares of the medical device maker were down 2% to a market value of $18.1 billion.
