Balt Expands Irvine Campus with 24K Sq. Ft. Facility

Part of multi-year $400M investment strategy

French medtech firm Balt, whose U.S. businesses is based in Irvine, opened its second local facility this week.

The 24,000-square-foot building will house its R&D and commercial teams.

Balt’s recent expansion of its Irvine campus is part of a previously announced multi-year investment strategy involving more than $400 million in planned investments between 2026 and 2030 to support manufacturing, clinical trials and commercial operations.

“As we continue expanding our manufacturing and innovation capabilities, we are proud to deepen our commitment to a city that offers exceptional talent, a strong business environment, and a thriving ecosystem for medical technology innovation,” Fred Gunderman, president of Balt USA, said in a statement.

Officials project Balt’s Irvine campus will expand by roughly 85,000 square feet, with headcount expected to reach 1,200 employees by 2030.
