Taco Bell Chain Will Add 30K Workers

Expect to see big hiring by Irvine-based Taco Bell Corp. this summer.

The chain said its corporate HQ in the Irvine Spectrum area, along with its franchisees and licensees, aim to hire about 30,000 workers, in a move responding to the various guidelines and safety measures restaurants must adhere to in a post-pandemic world.

The hires will fill new and existing positions at Taco Bell restaurants, including drive-thru, curbside pick-up and mobile orders and ensuring restaurants remain properly sanitized.

“Since COVID-19 became a reality, we have continued our commitment to putting our people first,” Taco Bell Chief People Officer Kelly McCulloch said in a statement. “We work closely with our franchisees to ensure that we’re meeting the needs of our restaurant teams.”

Taco Bell, part of Louisville, Ky.-based Yum Brands Inc., is Orange County’s largest restaurant chain with $11.7 billion in sales last year and some 7,000 units systemwide.
