Chipotle Mexican Grill opened a new restaurant in Old Town Orange today, the second location to have a walk-up window in Orange County.
One of the newer prototypes for the Newport Beach-based restaurant chain, the window allows customers to pick up digital orders without having to enter the store.
The first OC location to feature the new pick up option was in Corona Del Mar, which opened in February.
The company first announced plans for a new design prototype back in December 2021 for locations with no indoor seating to drum up more foot traffic, according to officials. In 2022, more spots were designed to offer both the drive thru Chipotlane and a walk-up window.
Chipotle also introduced a new menu item this month, garlic guajillo steak, across restaurants and virtually in the meta verse as well. The newest offering began testing in the OC market last May.
Shares were relatively unchanged during midday trading at $1,710 with a $47 billion market cap.
