Aliso Viejo-based Johnny Rockets named Joel Bulger chief marketing officer, a new position at the Americana-themed hamburger chain.
Bulger will oversee its public relations, marketing, new product launches and social media.
Johnny Rockets has more than 300 restaurants in the U.S. and internationally, and counted $326 million in systemwide sales last year.
Bulger most recently was vice president of brand marketing at Atlanta-based Moe’s Southwest grill. He has also worked at Orlando-based Darden Restaurants.
Johnny Rockets is owned by an affiliate of private equity investors Sun Capital Partners Inc. in Boca Raton, Fla.
It ranked No. 8 this year on the Business Journal list of OC-based restaurant chains.
