Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) launched its Chipotle Rewards loyalty program in Canada today, three years after releasing its U.S. program in 2019.
28 million members have signed up in the U.S. alone. The program works through a purchase and points system, allowing guests to access various rewards and discounts from the Newport Beach-based restaurant chain.
“Chipotle Rewards is another access point for guests to engage with our promise of real ingredients prepared fresh daily, and a way for us to say thank you for joining our mission of Cultivating a Better World,” managing director of Chipotle Canada Anat Davidzon said in a statement.
Chipotle currently operates and owns 28 restaurants in Canada and plans to open four more locations this summer. Chipotle is the second largest restaurant chain based in Orange County reporting $7.5 billion in systemwide sales ending Dec. 2021 and over 3,000 companywide locations.
