Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) said Thursday its debt-free degree program for employees is broadening with new majors and universities.
The company originally rolled out the employee perk in 2019 when it said it would pick up the cost of tuition for 75 business and technology degrees via a partnership with Denver B-Corp. Guild Education.
Thursday’s announcement adds degrees in agriculture, culinary and hospitality through institutions such as University of Arizona, Brandman University, Southern New Hampshire University, Johnson & Wales University and Oregon State University among others.
An employee qualifies for the degree program after 120 days working at Chipotle.
Chipotle operates more than 2,750 restaurants with roughly 88,000 workers.
The restaurant operator was trading up 1.2% in midday trading Thursday with a market cap of $42.8 billion.
