Chicken Franchise Adds 3 in OC

City of Industry-based Yang Ming Yu Braised Chicken USA Group plans three franchised locations of Yang’s Braised Chicken Rice in OC, following its first store in the U.S., a corporate location that opened in Tustin in September.

Irvine-based franchisee Xiang Wang plans one location a month beginning in November, in Lake Forest, Santa Ana, and Aliso Viejo.

Yang’s, launched in 2011, has one menu item—braised chicken and rice—and, according to franchise disclosure documents, 6,000 franchised locations in Asia,

The filing said Xinyu Zhang is chief executive, Eriko Zhao is vice president, and Ali Namazi is operations director.

The franchise fee is $35,000 and a development area costs $48,000 to $216,000. A press release noted a SoCal focus for early growth.

Royalties and national and local marketing are 10% of gross sales. The Tustin location had revenue of $222,000 in about four months of being open in 2017, the filing said.

It costs $300,000 to $500,000 to open one site; each should average 800 square feet to 1,200 square feet, franchising information on the company website said.
