California Pizza Kitchen’s Board Chairman Steps Down

Costa Mesa-based California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) announced board chairman Robert Webster will voluntarily step down from the company’s board of directors to pursue other business interests. Filling the position will be current board member Michael P. O’Donnell, who has served on the company’s board since Nov. 2020 and is the former chairman and CEO of Ruth’s Hospital Group Inc.

Webster, co-founder and senior managing director at Twin Haven Capital Partners, LLC, was instrumental in the first year of restructuring CPK since emerging from bankruptcy in Nov. 2020, including building the company’s strategic growth plan and delivering strong performance results. The company, which moved its base from L.A. to Orange County last year, said it is actively seeking a new board member as it continues its strong performance trend.

“We are thrilled to have Michael lead our board going forward. His deep leadership and category experience coupled with his intimate understanding of our post restructuring growth plan will help us build on our successful 2021 performance year and deliver an even stronger 2022,” said Jim Hyatt, CPK’s CEO and a board member since 2018.
