Tustin-based truck accessories maker AMP Research was acquired by Lund International Holding Co. in Buford, Ga., on undisclosed terms.
AMP makes running boards, steps, bed extenders and related products for trucks and sports utility vehicles. The company is expected to continue operations at its 55,000-square foot facility here, where it handles design, engineering and manufacturing. It moved to Tustin in 2011 from a smaller plant in Irvine.
Lund makes automotive accessories for passenger cars, trucks and sports utility vehicles. Its products include window deflectors, nerf bars and floor liners sold to automotive parts retailers, warehouse distributors and original equipment manufacturers.
Lund is backed by Dallas-based investment firm Highlander Partners LP, which focuses on providing equity and mezzanine financing to growing companies.
Highlander typically invests in companies with sales of between $10 million and $500 million.
