Ex-Goldman Sachs Man Could Take $4B Ingram Stake

Irvine-based wholesale technology distributor Ingram Micro may get a $4 billion investment led by RRJ Capital, which is run by former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. partner Richard Ong, according to Bloomberg.

A unit of China-based HNA Group bought Ingram Micro for $6 billion in 2016. A group led by Hong Kong-based private equity firm RRJ will invest via an HNA bond that can be converted into close to 50% of Ingram Micro; the agreement could come as early as next week.

Ingram’s been rumored to be on the block for more than a year: in December, news outlets then said Apollo Global Management was discussing a deal.
