Budget Blinds Franchiser Bought

Irvine-based Home Franchise Concepts was purchased by JM Family Enterprises Inc. in Deerfield, Fla., on undisclosed terms.

HFC franchises Budget Blinds window coverings; Tailored Living home organizing; Concrete Craft decorative concrete; and AdvantaClean environmental remediation, which it acquired in January. It has about $700 million in systemwide sales and $50 million in annual sales and was sold by private equity firm Trilantic, its owner since 2015.

Chief Executive Shirin Behzadi is on the Business Journal’s OC 500.

JM Family distributes Toyota parts and provides automotive finance, marketing and insurance products in the Southeast. It’s the 21st largest U.S. private company, according to Forbes, with about $16 billion in annual revenue; founder James Moran was on the Forbes 400 with a net worth of $2.4 billion at the time of his death in 2007.

The acquisition is “a chance to grow our business, diversify our knowledge base and expand our capabilities,” JM Family president and Chief Executive Brent Burns said in a statement.
