Chapman Names Matt Parlow as Next President

Set to begin Sept. 2, 2025; replaces Daniele Struppa

Chapman University today appointed Matt Parlow as the schools’s new president, effective Sept. 2, 2025, a day after current president Daniele Struppa is set to retire.

Parlow currently serves as executive vice president, chief advancement officer and Parker S. Kennedy Chair in Law at Chapman.

“I can’t imagine a leader more tailor-made than Matt Parlow to succeed me and lead Chapman into the future. Chapman is in excellent hands,” Struppa said in a statement.

The university held a seven month-long national search for its 14th president, which was spearheaded by Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees Jim Mazzo with a search committee composed of members of the university.

During his 12 years at Chapman, Parlow has led the university’s $500 million Inspire fundraising campaign and previously served as dean of the Dale E. Fowler School of Law.

Struppa, who has served as president for eight years, will return to Chapman’s mathematics faculty in September.
