OC Auto Sales Hit $10B in 2013

Automotive dealers in Orange County combined for $10 billion in sales last year, an 11% increase over 2012, according to the Newport Beach-based Orange County Automobile Dealers Association’s 2013 Economic Impact Report.

OCADA’s members, operating 120 dealerships, sold 264,000 vehicles—186,480 new and 77,520 used. They also employed 11,640 workers and combined for $614.7 million in payroll.

“Orange County auto dealerships continue to be a driving force in the local economy,” John Sackrison, OCADA’s executive director, said in a news release. “We expect continued growth this year as consumers take advantage of near record affordability and vehicles that feature enhanced technologies, which make driving safer, more fuel-efficient and more enjoyable.”
