Fountain Valley-based Genesis Motor America Inc., the luxury vehicle division of Hyundai Motor Group, today reported a 53% year-over year increase in March sales, with 4,603 vehicles sold last month.
It was a “best-ever” March and first quarter for Orange County’s eighth largest automaker by employee count, which sold 11,723
vehicles for the quarter.
Sales for its G70 sports sedan surged 69% to 1,297 units.
Sales for the GV70, the 2022 MotorTrend SUV of the Year, totaled 1,592 units.
GV70 sales were not reported last year.
The GV80, another SUV, fell 24% to 1,237 units.
The automaker’s other sedans, the G80 and G90 also saw declines in sales. The G90 was off 38% at 97 units, while the G80 was down 14% at 380.
