The South Orange County Community College District (SOCCCD) is pleased to congratulate Chancellor Julianna M. Asperin Barnes who has just been reappointed to the Orange County Business Council’s (OCBC) Board of Directors and the executive board through her new role as Co-Chair of OCBC’s Workforce Development Committee.
In addition to her leadership role in the Orange County business community, Chancellor Barnes is making waves in the higher education space with her roles as the Chair of the Community College League of California (CCLC) Board of Directors, as President of the Board of the Chief Executive Officers representing all 116 California Community Colleges, her role as a member of the California Community Colleges (CCC) Consultation Council Artificial Intelligence committee, the Orange County Regional Consortium, and the Orange County Community College Legislative Task Force. Based on an economic impact study conducted by Light Cast, showing that SOCCCD has a $7.1 billion impact on the local economy—Chancellor Barnes is on the right track to ensure SOCCCD’s impact is far reaching and longstanding.
