Chipotle Ramps Healthcare Worker Efforts

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) launched a new matching program to help healthcare workers globally.

The Newport Beach-based company said it will match 10% of purchases on a special medical-themed e-gift card. Chipotle’s gift will go to Santa Barbara-based Direct Relief, an organization sending personal protective equipment to healthcare workers.

The Chipotle program runs through May 31; the company will give at least $5,000 and as much as $250,000.

This follows the fast casual restaurant company’s pledge last week to give 100,000 burritos to workers at hospitals and medical offices in the U.S. through April 10.
