The S&P 500 was down 0.1% to 3,105.2 in midday trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial average also declined 0.1%, to 27,799.51.
Nasdaq was dropped 0.2% to 8,510.32.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond jumped 2.7% to 1.78%.
Crude oil fell 0.4% to $56.91 a barrel.
The price of gold got clipped 0.7% to $1,464.
HEALTHCARE
San Juan Capistrano-based Ensign Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ENSG) rose 4% to $42.69 and a $2.3 billion market cap. The skilled nursing and assisted living facilities operator’s shares are up about 8% on the year.
Irvine-based Chromadex Corp. (Nasdaq: CDXC) saw shares slide 7.2% to $3.49 for a $225 million market cap. Last week the nutrition ingredients maker reported $12 million in net sales; its flagship Tru Niagen product accounted for 80% of that; up 86% year-over-year. Yesterday, European Commission countries approved True Niagen as a ‘novel food’ and set a daily serving amount for adults.
Cryoport Inc. (Nasdaq: CYRX) took a 5% hit to $14.73 a share with a $528 million market cap. The health sciences product logistics provider last week reported higher third quarter revenue; shares are up by about 55% year-to-date.
