Bluewater Grill is known for its monthly themed events, few more popular than “Stuff the Lobster Instead of the Bird,” which this year is Nov. 12 through Jan. 2.
The original restaurant in Newport Beach, along with other SoCal locations, will serve a sustainably harvested, baked and stuffed Maine lobster, which Bluewater Grill co-founder Jimmy “Jimmy U” Ulcickas called a classic family feast—assuming the family is from New England, of course.
It’s my annual mandatory seafood splurge and starts with an evening event on Nov. 12: a whole Maine lobster stuffed with special shrimp and buttery panko-crumb stuffing, served with New England or Manhattan clam chowder—a true Boston Brahmin knows which to get—two sides, unlimited fresh sourdough and the all-important bib, for $45. The Sauvignon Blanc options will be from New Zealand and Napa Valley.
Can’t join me Nov. 12? No worries: order it off the menu through the holidays, same price; wine extra.
