Ensign Group Inc. in Mission Viejo acquired Comfort Hospice Care, a hospice provider serving Las Vegas, Pahrump and surrounding communities in Southern Nevada. The purchase will be added to Ensign’s home health and hospice business, Cornerstone Healthcare Inc., in Meridian, Idaho.
“Comfort Hospice Care … adds to our existing assisted living operations in Las Vegas, and expands our footprint outside of the Las Vegas metro area to provide care in rural areas across Southern Nevada,” said Ensign Chief Executive Christopher Christensen.
Ensign is a post-acute care services provider. The company provides a range of services through its three subsidiaries, which also include transitional and skilled services and assisted and independent living. It has 272 properties in 14 states.
Cornerstone offers services from agencies in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Iowa and Texas. With the purchase, it now operates 43 sites in 10 Western states.
Ensign said it’s actively seeking to buy “both well-performing and struggling home health, hospice and home care operations across the United States.”
