OP signs a licensee for its juniors’ and girls’ sportswear lines

Ocean Pacific Apparel Corp., Irvine, has tapped Tag Apparel Group in Santa Fe Springs to manufacture OP’s new junior and girls sportswear line for ages 7 to 16 years.

Additionally, OP has named Mary Wilberding president of its design group. Wilberding formerly was president of Liz Claiborne Inc.’s DKNY Jeans and DKNY Active, two divisions it licensed from Donna Karen International in 1997.

Surfwear pioneer OP, which has been moving in a new, hipper direction this past year, is a worldwide licensor of its branded apparel, footwear and accessories for men, women and children.

Tag, which also manufactures clothing for Body Code and private label collections for department and specialty stores, has created a line that includes a variety of denim, knit and woven casual sportswear. The line is expected to be in stores by June.
