The Nasdaq was down less than 1% to 3,066 in midday trading Monday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was also down less than 1% to 13,250.

The S&P 500 was down less than 1% to 1,415.

The yield on a 10-year treasury was down nearly 1% to about 2%.

The price of gold rose less than 1% to $1,623 per ounce.

Shares of Santa Ana-based Corinthian Colleges Inc. fell about 7% to about $2 and a market value of about $193 million after the for-profit school operator swung to a loss after two straight quarters of profit. The loss came as Corinthian posted its fourth-straight decline in revenue for the quarter ended in June.

Irvine-based Impac Mortgage Holdings Inc. was down about 16% to $4 and a recent market value of $32 million. That follows Impac’s 89% surge last week after the company reported an increase in profits for its mortgage lending business.
