McGladrey & Pullen LLP in Irvine promoted Matthew Tutor and Christine Jung to assurance services managers. Tutor specializes in manufacturing, wholesale and distribution and private equity. Tung specializes in financial audits and also provides accounting services for public companies.
Stonefield Josephson Inc. hired Orion Barca as a principal in its Irvine office. He will provide auditing, financial reporting, accounting, financing assistance, cash flow projections and financial consulting services to privately held companies. Previously, Barca spent seven years at Moss Adams LLP in Irvine.
ARCHITECTURE
Mitchell De Jarnett joined HMC Architects in its Irvine office as a senior project designer. Prior to joining HMC, De Jarnett ran his own design firm, LAMdJ LLC, for almost 10 years. He has also worked in other design fields, including new media and public art and architecture.
ARTS
Nancy Warzer-Brady was hired at Bowers Museum in Santa Ana as vice president of education. She returns to the museum following five years as director of education and community programs at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. Warzer-Brady was director of education and public programs at Bower’s from 2000 until 2004.
CONSULTING
Resources Connection Inc. hired Emily Friedman as director of recruiting in its Costa Mesa office. She will be responsible for recruiting consultants for the company’s human capital, legal and regulatory practices. Prior to joining Resources, Friedman was the director of recruiting for JM Associates in Irvine.
Don Dressler Consulting in Irvine hired Heather Flower to head its new marketing and communications division. Flower has more than 20 years of experience in communications and marketing and has worked in the healthcare, business, nonprofit and food industries. In her new position, she will provide clients with communications strategies as well as social media, branding and message development.
EDUCATION
Joseph Lewis III was named dean of the Clair Trevor School of the Arts at the University of California, Irvine, effective next spring. Lewis, who is a nationally known artist and arts educator, previously was dean of the School of Art and Design in the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
HOTELS
The Balboa Bay Club & Resort in Newport Beach hired Kathie Johnson as sales manager. Johnson previously worked at The Island Hotel in Newport Beach. She has a broad background in hospitality, including experience in administration, conference services and sales.
LAW
Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP hired John Kittleson as a partner in its Irvine office. Kittleson’s experience is largely in commercial real estate and includes financing, joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions and leasing. He previously was a partner at Allen, Matkins, Leck, Gamble, Mallory & Natsis LLP in Irvine.
Daniel Didier joined Jams in its Orange offices. Didier recently retired from the Orange County Superior Court, where he spent 20 years as a trial and settlement judge. Jams is a private provider of mediation and arbitration services.
MARKETING
Irvine-based Advantage Sales and Marketing LLC hired Frank Martell as executive vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer. Martell will be responsible for the company’s finance, internal audit and information technology divisions. Prior to joining Advantage, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer with Information Service Group Inc.
RETAIL
The Retail Equation in Irvine added Bisser Roussanov to its analytics division as a senior statistician. Roussanov will specialize in predictive models that prevent return fraud for the company’s retail clients. He previously worked as an analytic engineer focused on fraud detection with North Carolina-based SAS Institute Inc.
SPORTS
Scott Tanner joined USA Water Polo Inc. in Huntington Beach as director of sport development and Jennifer Rottenberg joined as chief marketing officer. Rottenberg previously worked at DSNV Marketing Group in Los Angeles, a company she founded in 2007. Tanner most recently was director of distribution marketing at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. USA Water Polo is the national governing body that oversees water polo in the U.S.
TECHNOLOGY
BeneTrac, a subsidiary of Paychex Benefit Technologies Inc., hired Worth Houghton in its Costa Mesa office as regional sales director for Orange County and Inland Empire. Houghton will work with clients to change from paper and less-automated systems to electronic enrollment and employee benefits administration software. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the software and insurance industries.
