Cypress-based Real Mex Restaurants promoted Rio Gueli to chief operating officer. He had been executive vice president of operations.
In his former role, Gueli supervised El Torito, Las Brisas, and the re-launched Who Song & Larry’s restaurant concepts.
As COO, he has authority over all eight Real Mex brands, including El Torito Grill, Sinigual, El Paso Cantina, Acapulco Cantina and Chevy’s Fresh Mex.
Real Mex emerged from bankruptcy and was acquired by private equity firms Z Capital Partners LLC and and Tennenbaum Capital Partners LLC in 2012.
The company operates or franchises about 130 locations across the eight brands.
