Market indices were up as the price of oil futures rose.
The S&P 500 was up 1.3% to 1,942.60. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.4% to 16,611.79. The NASDAQ was up 1.4% to 4,565.21.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 0.8% to 1.76%
The price of gold was 1.6% lower to $1,211.
HEALTHCARE
Irvine-based Sabra Healthcare REIT Inc. jumped 5.3% to 18.23 and a $1.2 billion market cap after the company reported earnings for its most recent quarter and full-year that beat analysts’ expectations, and on news of ongoing consolidations among REITS and operators of long-term care facilities for seniors.
REAL ESTATE
Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was up 5.8% to $9.32 and a $295 million market cap in moderate trading. The company will report fourth quarter and full year earnings on Thursday.
