Midday Stock Roundup

Stocks were down in midday trading on a mixed jobs report.

The S&P 500 was down 1.9% to 1,915.00. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 2% to 16,052.70. The Nasdaq was down ÂĽ% to 4,667.03.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 2.2% to 2.12%.

The price of gold was down 0.3% to $1,121.

HOMEBUILDING

Orange County homebuilders declined on uncertainty over whether the U.S. Federal Reserve Board of Governors would raise interest rates this month.

Irvine-based Standard Pacific Corp. was down 3.3% to $8.26 and a $2.3 billion market cap on its common stock. Irvine-based Tri-Pointe Group Inc. was down 2% to $13.80 and a $2.3 billion market cap. Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was down 1% to $22.92 and a $719 million market cap. Aliso Viejo-based New Home Co. Inc. was down 1.8% to $13.75 and a $229 million market cap.
