HOMEBUILDING
OC homebuilders were up on sector strength, with 10 regional and national homebuilders trading 2% to 11% higher. Irvine-based Tri Pointe Group Inc. was up 1.9% to $15.35 and a $2.5 billion market cap. Irvine-based Standard Pacific Corp., was up 2% to $8.99 and a market value on its common stock of $2.4 billion. The builder agreed this week to combine with Ryland Group Inc. Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was up 3.3% to $25.37 and a $776 million market cap.
RESTAURANTS
Irvine-based Habit Restaurants Inc. was up 2.8% to $35.75 and a $925 million market cap on sector strength from the second restaurant company initial public offering in a week to be well received by the market.
