HOMEBUILDING
Orange County-based builders were up on news that economists expect the U.S. Federal Reserve Board of Governors to hold off on an interest rate increase until at least September.
Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was up 3% to $24.20 and a $760 million market cap. Irvine-based Tri Pointe Group was up 2% to $14.89 and a $2.4 billion market cap. Irvine-based Standard Pacific Corp. was up 1.7% to $8.31 and a value on its common stock of $2.3 billion.
HEALTHCARE
Irvine-based NuGene International was down 27% to $3.17 and a $125 million market cap. Shares had risen about 60% in the last month coincident with a printed mailer discussing the stock. The company issued a press release Wednesday that said the skincare products developer “management, directors [and] controlling shareholders” were not involved with that publication.
