TECHNOLOGY
Aliso Viejo-based Microsemi Corp. was down 8.2% to $32.79 and a $3.1 billion market cap. The semiconductor maker reported net income of $25 million in its most recent quarter, compared with a loss in the same period last year, but revenue of $296.2 million missed analyst expectations of $296.9 million and revenue guidance of $302 million for the current quarter is below the midpoint of $304 million consensus.
RESTAURANTS
Huntington Beach-based BJ’s Restaurants Inc. was down 9% to $48.59 and a $1.3 billion market cap. The casual dining operator reported net income of $9.6 million in its most recent quarter, compared with net income of $4.7 million in the same period last year, but revenue of $225.1 million missed analyst expectations of $225.6 million and Barclay’s maintained its “underweight” rating on the shares with a price target of $47.
SERVICES
Newport Beach-based Acacia Research Corp. was up 18% to $11.83 and a $366 million market cap. The patent licensing company reported a loss of $13.1 million in its most recent quarter, compared with a loss of $24.4 million in the same period last year, and revenue of $34.2 million exceeded analyst expectations of $33.4 million.
